Re:Connect Show Tonight - En:Vision Special!

October 1st, 2008

The next Re:Connect Show on NSB Radio will be on Wednesday 1st October, and it’s another tribute show. This time we’ll be paying tribute to our big brother label, the often overlooked En:Vision Recordings, and if that’s not enough I’ll have the one and only Future Funk Squad with me live in the studio for a guest mix and a chat.

I’ll be playing a handful of my favourite back catalogue tunes, whilst leaving the man himself to give us a taster of things to come. Expect a shed load of awesome exclusives, plus some inane banter!

What you need to know:

Date: Wednesday 1st October 2008
Time: 21:00-23:00 (GMT)
Place: www.nsbradio.co.uk

To tune in simply select from the following streams (more options available at the website above, on the home page):

Also you can get involved and interactive with the show via the chat room so please come on in! Click here to chat.

ID takes us on a Mission!

September 25th, 2008

Up next is a stomping, rolling breakbeat monster in the form of ID’s ‘Mission‘.  We first heard this a while back and knew it had to be part of our catalogue.

ID’s also furnished us with his own ‘House Mix’, and the package will be rounded off with a further mix from label boss High Eight.  While we’re waiting for that one to be finished off, you can check out audio clips of the other two below!

It’s Re:Connect-tastic in iDJ!

July 3rd, 2008

Those lovely people over at iDJ magazine have seen fit to include not one, but TWO reviews on Re:Connect releases in the latest issue. The godfather of breaks, none other than Rennie Pilgrem has reviewed the debut single by That Girl DJ ‘Mi Casa Su Casa’ (OUT NOW) calling it “a very strong debut”, and Larry Nelson’s given a glowing review of Refunk’s ‘Mr Mole’.

That Girl DJ ‘Mi Casa Su Casa’ OUT NOW!

June 26th, 2008

tgdjThe wait is over! The debut single from THAT GIRL DJ - Mi Casa Su Casa - is finally out!!!

We’re extremely proud to be releasing the debut single from Boomslang favourite, DJ, and now producer That Girl DJ! “Mi Casa Su Casa” is a rocking blend of tech-funk breaks, housey 4×4 beats and all-round sassiness in the way only That Girl DJ can bring. An electronic bubbling bassline and crisp, punchy beats drive the track along switching to a more driving bassline once the main riff drops. Tried and tested on dancefloors all over, this one is a bone-fide crowd pleaser!

On remix duties there was only one man on our wish list – Sam Hell. Fresh from releases such as Stay Out All Night, and the anthemic Bone Snow on Sinister, the man himself turns in a stunning remix utilising chopped up elements of the original, some serious slap bass and his own trademark fat beats. This one did serious damage at Boomslang on the day we received it and will be doing so all across dancefloors worldwide.

Last but not least, another newcomer to the label, Karl Sav, turns in a bouncy 80’s-esque remix using lots of the original track and adding his own flavour of melody and Stanton’s style beats, and a great gurnerific lift! His collaboration with Nikita ‘No Doubt’, released on Re:Connect in March this year, was a huge hit among DJ’s all over the globe, and he was always on the list of people we wanted to work on this package.

Big support from Diverted, Robosapiens, Jay Cunning, Plaza De Funk, Stylus Rex, Jariten and many more!
